Believing In Not Believing

You say that we can't go back now. You pray that we're all endowed.
The suns shade is different tonight, but the glare it leaves on us isn't permanent in
the slight.

It’s okay, we know that no one's immortal, but when I was little I asked god for it
every night.
We sit in the wake of the fading of these shades, and it leaves us thinking "should
we paint those shades at all?"

So we, know that we, no, we can't be, forever.

It’s ironic, the faith I had when I was little, now I can't show faith in anything.
Especially not a god
And do you recall? When the sun came down to burn me?
The memory is no longer with me, so why should I have faith in memory?

So we, know that we, no, we can't be, forever.

So please say that you won't need me, oh say that you're not here. Just trick me for
another day that you won't disappear.

So I'll keep my thoughts in me.
I'll keep my beliefs in me.
Oh, I'll keep my heart in me you won't/don't want it.

So please say that you won't need me, oh say that you're not here. Just trick me for
another day that you won't disappear.

So please say that you won't need me, oh say that you're not here. Trick me for just
one more day that I won't disappear.
